These days travelling to the West Coast of France couldn’t be any easier with a variety of choices available. The two most popular travel options are via the cross channel ferries or fly drive.
Flying enables you to get to the resort fairly quickly and in low season cheap flights can often be found, however you are restricted on the amount of luggage you can bring. Our linen service and towel hire can help with keeping the weight down.
Taking the ferry is a more leisurely alternative and enables you to bring out as much luggage as you can safely fit in your car, which is ideal for holidays with children. If you don’t mind driving in France then the Dover-Calais crossing or eurotunnel can be a well priced option, though allow for eight or nine hours driving once in France.
We will hold your booking for 48 hours to enable you to sort out your transport arrangements. On receipt of the payment for your holiday we will send a confirmation email. This will also include complete details of your holiday as well as suggestions as to what you need to bring, helpful advice and directions to the campsite.
The most popular routes are Portsmouth to St Malo or Portsmouth to Caen leaving about a three to four hour journey to Jard Sur Mer or a four to five hour journey to Ile d’Oleron when you arrive in France.
If you choose to book your ferry yourself direct with Brittany Ferries we are able to offer you 20% off the car and passenger fares with Holiday France Direct.
